Put your best hoove forward!

Walk this way

Walking stick, 19-20th century.

This walking cane was found under the floorboards of a 1910s cottage in Christchurch. The handle is part of a sheep's leg.

The use of materials indicates it may have been homemade. The hoof even features a small metal shoe!

It mangaged to creep out a lot of the people in the office; but it is a great example of using the materials immediately to hand (or hoof).

Always put your best foot forward!
