Inspired by the new publication The Lives of Colonial Objects, Underground Overground Archaeology presents an online exhibition.

A selection of artefacts (a few of our favourite things) has been curated, each telling the stories of archaeology and archaeologists alike. These objects, in which past and present collide, include everything from the ordinary to the weird and wonderful.

Their discovery reminds us of the importance of archaeology, not just as a reminder of who we were and how we once lived, but also as an insight into who we are now and the ever-changing narrative of an object's meaning.
