Only time will tell

Fob watch, 19-20th century.

 

This old fob watch was found in a service trench. To me, it's the coolest thing to me that I've found so far. It brings up questions of who owned it and how it ended up in the dirt. It would have been a prized possession in its era, and its loss sorely felt. Was it thrown away deliberately because it was broken or accidentally dropped? Only to be lost in time and found years later.

 

If only it could speak what stories it might tell!.
