During 7th form, I decided that I wanted to either become a boat builder or an archaeologist. I chose archaeology as it combined my favourite subjects at school... and because I hated working with fibreglass. Some days when you are doubled over in a ditch scratching like a chicken in high stress situations, you wonder what it would be like to be a boat builder. But, there are some days as an archaeologist that, without question, make it all worthwhile - going to remote locations, working on interesting sites, making exciting finds, meeting interesting people and most importantly, producing new information. Though often challenging, the primary goal is to produce good information from physical evidence and also to present this clearly. This is a process I have come to enjoy.
